[gigs] Kris Wanders Quartet

(UPDATE: I originally got lineup info from Wanders’ website – the latest info I have is that the lineup on both nights is

Kris Wanders (tenor sax)
Slawek Janicki (double bass)
Qba Janicki (drums)

that update was wrong, Andy Sugg defintely was there last night, it was a quartet show)

Next month sees the return of Kris Wanders & Andy Sugg to Adelaide. Details of the shows are here (along with more info about Kris Wanders). This is exciting news, the shows I’ve seen by these guys were incredibly good. In particular for fans of free jazz I would rate them as absolutely unmissable.

Here is  a 4 part video showing Wanders with a group which includes the drummer (Qba Janicki) who’ll be joining him for both shows here, and the bassist (Slawek Janicki) who’ll play at the Exeter.

Here’s Andy Sugg (who I now think is not playing)

The show at Big Star will also feature Tom Fryer on fretless guitar (also not playing ?)

Also lots of interesting news at the Feel Presents site – including confirmation that there’ll be Don’t Look Back concerts early next year (The Laughing Clowns perhaps? Maybe Mr Uddich Schmuddich Goes to Town AKA the greatest Australian album ever?), and tours by Dinosaur Jr and Yo La Tengo.
